If you have, or suspect you may have been a victim of fraud when purchasing tickets, please report it to Action Fraud www.
Booking fees have become an industry standard necessity at commercial venues. Many venues now out-source their ticketing to independent ticketing agents. In our case, we use Ticketmaster. However, Ticketmaster will always give you a clear breakdown of exactly what charges are involved. These fees are charged to cover the cost of their telephone and online booking systems and to ensure our customers can purchase tickets 7 days a week, worldwide.
The total you pay to receive your tickets is usually broken down like this: - The Face Value of each ticket - A Service Charge also known as a Booking Fee for each ticket - An Order Processing Fee also known as Fulfilment for your order Ticketmaster knows no one likes to pay extra costs, so they do everything they can to keep their fees as low as they can, while still being able to offer you the best possible service. Face Value This is the base cost of your ticket, set by the event organisers.
Ticketmaster nor the venue are involved in deciding the price, but it's usually based on the costs involved in putting on a tour. Service Charge Booking Fee This is the only part of your payment that Ticketmaster keeps — the face value goes straight to the event organisers. The booking fee helps Ticketmaster to cover the costs involved in running their website and telephone booking line.
