Tranter is a Coyle and Cassidy grad who spent the last 11 years of her year career at the school as its president. She left in to work for the diocese in Fall River as its director of strategic initiatives.
She says the idea was to work together collaboratively to maximize fundraising opportunities and devise a shared curriculum. She says the diocese knew of her intent when they hired her but changed her role after she left Coyle and Cassidy and arrived in Fall River.

Hoye also says that competition for students became keener in more recent years as the public high and middle schools in Taunton improved, and began attracting more students who otherwise would have had to pay tuition to attend Coyle and Cassidy.
